After owning my MacBook to get a month I finally feel ready to review it accurately. I want to start off by praoclaiming that I used to be highly unwilling to spend much cash a laptop. I've forever been a Windows guy so I've known that you can buy laptops with equivalent specs to Macs for a good deal cheaper. Though after comparing different laptops I wasn't able to get the one that stood a satis factory building. Closest I possibly could find were laptops produced by Asus, but nevertheless Someone said of a lot of build quality issues that taught me to be uneasy. Ultrabooks created by other businesses had good quality, but at that same moment they cost approximately the MacBook though lower specs. And So I decided to go for it using this MacBook after demoing it within a Apple Store. Here are the things which taught me to be more comfortable with my purchase.
I'm very glad to get back on an Apple product. Having used PCs exclusively the past a couple of years, I will identify several specific logic behind why I wanted to get back to Mac.
1) Mouse mechanics - there is really nothing inside the PC market that comes even close to the Mac trackpad. Closest replacement for its smooth, accurate and conveniently place functionality will be the Lenovo ThinkPad's red nipple. Ever Since I work often where the need to pull out an outside mouse can be inconvenient, this was a important point to me.
2) Life cycle of battery - even new, the HP Envy only hits 3 hours or so over a full charge. I'm able to squeeze close to six hours out from the MBP. Trips traveling make the doubled life cycle of battery very helpful.
3) Lion productivity features - I recall having to employ a second monitor in my PC setups just for the property. i'm able to honestly say that we're fine without that now when capable to swipe between desktops with 3 finger motions on this trackpad. Using a second monitor anyway is a bonus since lets me just keep iTunes or Outlook open secretly.
4) Speed - Lion along with the upgrades I've added to this MBP (in the above list) are making this computer incredibly fast. I will crunch through 500,000 row Excel spreadsheets, update my iPhone firmware, watching a 720p YouTube without the noticeable hitches. Startup takes lower than 10-seconds, waking from start is instantaneous (so awesome and useful!), install speeds are zippy.
5) Prettiness - beautiful work machines can inspire better plus more creative work. It can not only cause me to wish to use the MBP more - it's a relentless reminder of methods careful planning, bold design choices, good engineering, and hard work make inspirational products.
So all in all I am very happy with my purchase. I am officially a Mac convert and will use this laptop for a very long time
Conclusion
In conclusion - this is a great laptop. Although it is a little pricey, it is well worth the extra money. So far, the only issue I have with it (rubber pads) is a very small problem that does not change how this laptop performs in any way.
If you're thinking about finding a MacBook Pro laptop but wouldn't like to spend so much money for just one, how's that for what you want. It can be considered the "base model" MacBook Pro, but it still a great computer. The size and style and battery on this computer can make it excellent for people that require a laptop that's very mobile. Between work and college classes, I needed a light-weight yet durable computer which definitely fits that criteria.
