Product Description
I am giving this little guy 5 stars because many experts have performing in my opinion for most way I would like it to. I became seeking a low priced, small laptop to perform some light web surfing/research and word processing. From the week that I've been through it, We're very pleased!
Right off the bat I was able to after booting up the netbook (to be sure everything loaded up okay), was install more RAM ordered out of your Crucial website, because they guarantee the correct size in your machine. This netbook only incorporates 2 GB of RAM, i was afraid wouldn't quite be all that you should manage my multi-tasking. There's one 2 GB stick in a single slot, plus there is another slot which can be empty. I upgraded for the max level of 8 GB with two 4 GB sticks. The lower plate was not hard to secure along with the slots exist from your center, plain as day. In my opinion this may let the netbook to own at its best.
The processor is weak, so boot up, power down, and opening programs need slightly more than you're utilized to if you've been looking after a far more modern desktop employing a big, shiny processor. I don't need to have a quickly processor to try out Diablo with this particular thing, so that you can wait a supplementary second for load time. It doesn't bother me, since i expected it.
I'm happy with how big is the screen along with the keyboard - it feels much like 100% from the regular keyboard. (I'm sure maybe it's 92%? Uncertain.) Audio quality and video playback from YouTube videos already are satisfactory. Not mind-blowing, but no glitches either. Some reviewers have commented concerning the poor quality of sound, however don't offer an downside to it.
On the negative, there are 3 issues:
1. The top of the machine carries a shiny, glossy surface that is pretty, but attracts my grubby fingerprints much like the dickens. But that's merely aesthetic, along with the box has a cleaning cloth.
2. I have already been having recurring issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks. I usually have to run the troubleshooting app to solve it, after which get up. This, of course, are closely related to my own lack of know-how regarding IP's and network configurations, etc.
3. Personally, I've found how the battery can last me just about 3.5 hours normally. It is a bit shorter than I'd like, but still functional.
Overall, I do believe this netbook is an excellent fit for anyone with needs much like mine - word processing, web surfing, with an inexpensive machine that travels well. I highly recommend it.
Performance
The Acer Aspire An example may be really a type of various forms of laptop for sale in a large number of different configurations. The size resembles an Ipad, but by having a touch pad including a real keyboard. Perhaps its biggest edge over a tablet is that you obtain a big hard drive with an os powerful enough to execute several major applications immediately. I bought my Aspire One 4 years ago and am still extremely happy about everything about this. However, the specs just keep getting better and better each new edition. Multi-gesture touchpad, more memory, HDMI output, 320GB harddrive, better display, lower power consumption. If only all this was available 4 years ago! You may be influenced to buy another optical drive to create additional software, but that won't be necessary. In case you have another computer it's possible to probably just copy your installation disks in to a memory stick and install after that.
The dimensions is good, practical and comfortable to hold from spot to another. It is actually elegant and features all of the features We requirement for the good job. Very recommended
Conclusion
I order this once you have pre-owned acer 10.1" netbook and found laptop keyboards to small to do any real typing onto it. This netbook includes a fantastic 11.6" display that provides sharp video playback. The laptop keyboard is great size and permits easy typing. The weight and dimensions make it very convenient to carry around. About the negative side I wish the battery held a much better charge as well as the touchpad can be somewhat over sensitive. I ended up obtaining a wireless mouse which solve my challenge with the touchpad that we think is more me as opposed to netbook. We have my netbook created to dual boot into Windows 8 & Linux Mint 13. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.
